A China inspection service gives you a documented, local view of your order when you cannot be on the factory floor. Quality Inspection China coordinates that work from Yiwu: we agree the checkpoints, sampling level and reporting format in writing, then run or book the inspection against your order. You receive evidence before shipment, not after the container has left.
Our model is coordination. Inside a sourcing order, we coordinate the in-process and final checks carried out by the executing inspection party. When you require an independent report, we coordinate buyer-designated third-party agencies, such as SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV or Intertek, and accredited (ISO 17025) laboratories for testing. We are not a testing laboratory and do not issue certificates or test reports in our own name. Reports are issued by the inspector or laboratory that performs the work and carry its report number.
The inspection services you can book
The service menu covers the common checkpoints used by importers, wholesalers, brand owners and e-commerce sellers buying consumer goods from China. Each service is scoped to your product, quantity and destination market.
- Pre-shipment inspection — final OQC before release, with the pre-shipment inspection report sent for confirmation at least three days before shipment.
- During-production inspection — checks while production is running, so deviations are caught before they repeat across the batch.
- Initial production inspection — verification at start-up, including first-piece and pre-production sample confirmation.
- Container loading inspection — quantity, assortment, packaging and loading conditions checked as the goods are packed into the container.
- Factory audits — supplier background checks, on-site visits, production environment and equipment review, and an assessment of the factory’s own QC system; each factory audit is graded A, B or C.
- Amazon FBA inspection — checks aligned to FBA carton, label and packaging requirements before goods are sent to the fulfilment centre.
- Category inspections — garment checks such as colourfastness and labelling, and electronics checks such as function, markings and accessories.
- Production monitoring — scheduled follow-up across a longer production run, using the standard rhythm of PPS confirmation, at least two in-production checks and final OQC.
- Full (100%) inspection — piece-by-piece checking where defect risk or order value justifies it.
How an inspection is arranged
Every inspection is attached to a sourcing order and agreed before production reaches the checkpoint.
- 1. Send the order data. You provide product details, quantity and destination market. Requirement confirmation usually takes 1-3 days.
- 2. Agree the requirements in writing. Standards, AQL level and checkpoints are written into the order terms when the order is placed, so scope is clear.
- 3. Run the checkpoints. The pre-production sample (PPS) is confirmed, at least two in-production checks are made, and final OQC is completed before shipment. Checks cover appearance, dimensions and weight, function, quantity and assortment, packaging and labelling, accessories and documents, and safety and compliance marks. Critical dimensions are typically held within +/-1-5 mm by category; gross weight deviation is within +/-5%. Function tests can include zips cycled 500 times, handle load tests and drop tests.
- 4. Receive the report. The PDF report is shared digitally with high-resolution photos, video, a defect list, corrective recommendations and re-inspection records. The final inspection report is sent for your confirmation at least 3 days before shipment. You may also follow inspections by live video.
- 5. Close defects through the 24-48-7 loop. Within 24 hours you receive photos, video and a defect list. Containment and a correction plan follow. Correction and re-inspection are targeted to complete within 48 hours to 7 days, subject to the factory's rework and the executing inspection party's re-inspection schedule, and a re-inspection report with before/after comparison closes the case. Samples and records for every batch are retained for at least 12 months.
Standards behind every inspection
Sampling follows ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 / ISO 2859-1. The default AQL is Major 2.5 / Minor 4.0; stricter levels such as 0.65 or 1.0 are available on request. Critical defects, including safety hazards and regulatory violations, are not accepted, and shipment stops.
- Minor: fix on site, repack or relabel.
- Major: rework, replace shortfalls, re-inspect before release.
- Critical: stop shipment, quarantine the batch, root-cause review using 8D, 5 Whys and CAPA; re-make or change supplier if needed.
Category add-ons are agreed where relevant: small-parts and EN71 checks for toys; colourfastness, pH, formaldehyde and azo dyes for textiles; hardness, coating thickness and torque for hardware; food-contact migration for kitchenware.
Where the inspections happen
Inspections attach to sourcing orders handled by our Yiwu team, in and around the Yiwu market and nearby industrial areas including Jinhua, Yongkang, Pujiang and Dongyang. This is the practical footprint for the service; we do not claim nationwide coverage or offices elsewhere.
Who runs the inspection
Inside a sourcing order, the in-process and final checks are performed by the executing inspection party under our coordination. If you require an agency, we book and brief a buyer-designated third-party agency, such as SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV or Intertek. The report is issued by whoever performs the inspection; when you compare an inspection company in China, that point matters. For the full chain behind these checkpoints, see quality control inspection.
Testing and documents are arranged per product, per destination market and per batch. We coordinate accredited (ISO 17025) laboratories for standards such as EN71, REACH, RoHS, FDA food-contact migration, CE testing, FCC Part 15 and UN38.3 where applicable. Laboratory reports are issued by the laboratory and carry its report number. Legal responsibility for compliance rests with the manufacturer or importer; we coordinate requirements and can introduce an EU authorised representative.
